In a desperate attempt to escape her captor, an Alabama woman jumped out of her car’s trunk, as the kidnapper prepared to leave. The events occurred at a gas station in Birmingham, Alabama, on the 16th of March, at approximately 11:40 pm. Authorities were not able to identify the woman’s captor, but the security footage from inside the gas station supplied them with an accurate description.
An Alabama woman becomes somewhat of a local hero, after narrowly escaping her kidnapper by jumping from the trunk of her own vehicle. According to the 25-year-old woman’s statements, she was just about to enter her apartment, when an armed individual appeared and ordered her to get inside the trunk on her black Nissan Altima.
Fearing for her life, the woman complied and jumped inside the car’s trunk. As far as she remembers, the kidnapper must have driven for several miles before they’ve stopped. According to the authorities, the woman’s black Nissan Altima was sighted at a local gas station, several miles away from the woman’s apartment.
Yosef AlSabah, the owner of the gas station, told the police that, at approximately 11:40 pm, a black car pulled into the gas station and an individual entered the gas station. After spending some time in front of the ATM, the person went to AlSabah and asked help to withdraw some money.
AlSabah recalls that after several failed attempts, the individual got angry because he couldn’t withdraw money from the ATM, and went back to his car. The security camera mounted outside the gas station reveals that shortly after the suspect started the vehicle and took off, the car’s truck popped open and a woman jumped out of it.
After getting up, the woman went inside the gas station to seek assistance. The security tape released by the police showed the desperate Alabama woman trying to explain AlSabah what happened. Upon reviewing the testimonies and the gas station’s security tapes, the Birmingham police department managed to get a fairly accurate description of the woman’s kidnapper. It appears that the suspect is a well-built African-American citizen and, at the time he entered the gas station and attempted to withdraw money from the ATM, he was wearing a white cap and a striped cardigan.
