The MWC 2017 just came with the Alcatel A5 LED, a highly customizable phone.

The MWC 2017 just came with 3 new devices from Alcatel. And one of the catchiest ones is the Alcatel A5 LED. This affordable phone will have a LED back with a high personalization power.

On February 27th, Alcatel revealed three new products during the MCW. This is the Mobile World Congress taking place in Barcelona, Spain. The Alcatel A3 was presented as being “the most affordable 5” HD” phone. And the U5 as being the most affordable 5” 4G one.

But the Alcatel A5 LED seems to be drawing the most attention. And that is not too big of a surprise, once you see its back. The A5 will come with a, what else, LED back. This feature has been presented as a fun new option. One which will also make this device a very customizable one.

Its users will be able to choose light-up notifications. They will also be able to create unique LED cover themes and patterns, according to their mood of the day.

William Dowie offered some additional details on the phone. He is the Alcatel Portfolio Management Director. And according to him, the Alcatel A5 will offer a selfie-ready, enhanced multimedia experience.

Dowie also presented it as the ideal phone for people looking to have fun and which want to let their personalities shine through.

The Alcatel A5 will be able to do so thanks to its array of LED light shows. These can be programmed in accordance with the following facts. Specific colors can be set to shine when receiving a call or a message. This will also be applicable for social media alerts and alarms.

User specific LED cover themes and patterns can be created daily. And they may be brought to life using the Color Catch 2.0. This personalized light show was presented as a way of “lighting up your imagination”.

And users will also be able to “light up their music”. The LED light shows will light up in tune with the music. And they will be changed with just a simple shake.

The Alcatel A5 LED will be powered up by a MediaTek MT6753. It will have 16GB of internal storage and 2GB RAM. Its 5.2-inch screen will offer a maximum 720p HD resolution. And it will come with 4G LTE connectivity.

The selfie-ready phone, as it was presented, will come with a 5 MP front camera. This will also be bringing a selfie flash for low light situations. Its main camera will not be much stronger, coming up to 8 MP. However, this latter will be coming with a dual-tone flash.

And the A5 LED will have the Face Beauty. This was presented as the software that will help achieve flawless images. It will also be coming with the Face Show. This software will the user personalize selfies into video clips.

The Alcatel A5 LD will also pack a Private Mode. This will offer a different sign-in, one which will protect any hidden apps and photos. A5 LED will run on Android 6.0 Marshmallow.

Alcatel’s A5 LED was categorized as an affordable, sub-$300 device. Still, an official price and availability have yet to be offered. As such, more details on the product are to be expected.
