Bose’s multifunctional hearing aid will soon replace conventional hearing devices.
Are you a tad frustrated when you’re in a noisy bar, and you can’t hear what your friend is saying? Then you’re in luck, because Bose, a company specialized in top-end electronics, will soon launch a multifunctional hearing aid which is designed specifically for such circumstances.
The revolutionary device developed by Bose is called Hearphones, and it features the latest improvements in the field of sound suppression and cancellation.
Hearphones looks like a perfectly normal pair of earbuds, but it actually houses several directional microphones and various adaptive features.
Bose’s new product features sound-sensitive earbuds attached to a reverse collar. This handy controller houses a power button, a rechargeable battery that lasts more than 10 hours, and two LED indicators for Bluetooth connection and battery level.
The device can interface with any tablet or smartphone via a Bluetooth or Near-field Communication connections. In addition to the reverse collar, the multifunctional hearing aid has additional buttons located on the right earbud.
This section of the hearing aid houses the main volume controls, a multifunction button which can be used when talking on the phone or listening to online content, and a specialized volume control button called “World”.
This button will allow you to control the ambient sound, which three distinct presets – the ‘Focused’ mode, very handy when you’re trying to listen to what the person in front of you is saying, the ‘Front’ mode, which cancels out sound coming from the side, allowing you to hear what a group positioned in front of you is saying.
The last hearing mode is called ‘Everywhere, ’ and it allows you, the wearer, to pick up even the faintest sound coming from the environment.
However, the hearing aid’s capabilities do not end here. Herephones become even more powerful when they are paired with the phone or tablet application. The app will bear the name of Bose Hear app, and, as you would except, it extends the functionality of the hearing aid by allowing you to program presents for each type of situation.
So, instead of tinkering with the sound control throttle each time you are engaged in a conversation, the app allows you to program and switch these presets at the press of a single button.
Unfortunately, the company did not disclose any information about the hearing aid’s price or when it will become available on the open market.
