Chris Christie spoke before 1,000 people in the Lincoln Day Celebration held in the suburban part of Chicago. He visited Illinois nine times in 2014 in order to boost the campaign of the first GOP governor of Illinois in more than ten years. The former Republican Governors Association chairman is said to be stopping by for his political aspirations in 2016.
Sources speculated that this year’s visit to the city is done in order for him to build support for his run in 2016. His supporters launched a political action committee to allow Christie in raising money and in paying for travel. This week he was in Iowa. Christie told the people that his straightforward approach is what is needed. In line with it, he criticized President Obama’s plan of authorizing military forces against the fighters in the Islamic State.
