Lately, Florida’s law enforcement officers had to deal with a most unusual case. According to the reports, several police officers were summoned to a house in Lee County, after a woman said that she heard gunshots. The officers discovered that the gunshots heard by the woman were fired by a 76-year-old man who shot his wife twice in the behind because the woman refused to have sex with him. The Florida septuagenarian has been detained and held on a $100,000 cash bond.
A spokesperson for the Lee County Sheriff’s Office declared that they’ve recently received a call from a woman who shared a house with two newlyweds. According to the woman, the pair went to their bedroom and started arguing. After a while, she heard two loud gunshots coming from the room and went to see if they were harmed.
The woman was greeted by 76-year-old Donald Royce, who pointed his gun at the woman as soon as she entered the bedroom. After a couple of minutes of talking, the woman managed to convince the Florida septuagenarian to put his gun down and to allow her to call an ambulance.
When the paramedics and the law enforcement officers arrived, they’ve found a 62-year-old woman lying on the floor with a gunshot wound on her hip. Royce immediately confessed said that he shot his wife.
After being an interview, the man said that he didn’t mean to shoot his wife and that we wanted to shoot the mattress in order to scare her. When asked about why he felt necessary to point the gun at his significant other, Royce said that he and his wife got married in August, but, up to this day, the woman refused to consummate the marriage.
In a fit of anger, the Florida septuagenarian took out his gun and shot the woman twice. The doctors who treated the woman said that one of the bullets got lodged in her hip, while the other was stuck in the woman’s behind. Both bullets were removed, and the woman was sent home in order to recover.
Meanwhile, Royce was arrested and charged with aggravated battery using a deadly weapon. At the moment, he is being detained at the Lee County’s jail, and a judge posted a $100,000 on his behalf.
The woman, who refused to give her name, declared that she’s been through Hell and back and that she wants to use this opportunity to raise awareness about violence against women.
