Latest new report how a guy calls forth his Tesla using an Apple watch.
Technology has advanced so much in the last years that now Tesla’s model S cars can be summoned by using an Apple watch. Recently, Tesla has improved its Model 6 with a feature that allows owners to start their car even if they are not around it.
The new summoning option came with update v7.1 on Tesla Model S which enables drivers to take their cars out of the garage or park them just by pushing a button. International Business Time has announced that Apple Watches were updated so that they can be used to start Tesla’s engine with a tap on the wrist. The application was designed by Allen Wong, iOS developer and it seems to have been very successful during tests.
Moreover, using the Apple Watch you can find basic information about the car: charging status, speed and temperature. Also, it can be used to lock and unlock the car. However, recent tests proved the key fob should to be around the vehicle. Despite this, Wong said if the car owner presses the Keyless Start button before tapping the Summon option, there is no need for the key to be around the car.
Recently, Mark Schey, a Youtuber, uploaded a video that clearly shows how the application works. In the video, he is browsing the GPS screen of the app on his Apple Watch and presses the summon button. Immediately, his Tesla Model S sends a signal to open the garage doors after which the car starts and lets itself out. The fact that a guy calls forth his Tesla using an Apple Watch shows how much innovation technology has brought in the last years.
