On May 17th, a Motorola event is scheduled regarding the launching of Moto G4 and Moto G4 Plus. A picture associated with the Moto X 2016 model leaked on the internet raising a lot of questions and interest from the fans of the brand.
To begin with, this new model has an unusual design compared to the previous ones. It looks like Motorola is catching up with the other popular brands on the market as this smartphone seems to be equipped with a big camera which might surpass the other brands from the market.
This unusual design has buttons on the side and round corners. The model appears to be also rounded on the back to assure a better grip but nothing can be said yet whether it is water resistant.
This piece of information was enough to catch the public’s interest, and it will certainly increase the attendance to the upcoming event.
Concerning the hardware, Lenovo is expected to go either with Snapdragon or MediaTek, but as long as we are talking about the customer’s taste, Snapdragon 820 sounds like the better option of the two. Most probably there will be 4 GB of RAM and a generous internal storage of 64 GB. And even if this internal storage will be more than enough, all previous models had a microSD slot. Thus, the Moto X 2016 is probably going to have one too.
The last year’s Moto X Play was equipped with a 3630 mAh battery so Moto X 2016 must have at least 4000 mAh meaning that battery life won’t be an issue.
Furthermore, Moto X 2016 is expected to have a 5.5-inch QuadHD display, at least of the same caliber as its competitors. With all of this features, the price may be a little spicy as this smartphone is going to be part of the premium phones category. For the time being Galaxy S7, although expensive, it’s still on the top of the smartphone industry thanks to its sales. HTC is also doing a pretty good job even though the company’s report showed disappointing earnings.
Nothing is sure, but there is still the possibility that Motorola will make a surprise launch of the Moto X 2016 at the upcoming event on May 17th.
