Remember Flappy Bird, the hard and often frustrating iOS and Android game which made you smash your phone’s screen? Well, if you’re a die-hard fan of Flappy Bird-style games, then you will be thrilled to hear that Dong Nguyen, the game’s creator, has recently launched a new game, featuring the same 8-bit graphics as the original.
Entitled Ninja Spinki Challenges, Nguyen’s newest games feature the same fast-paced gameplay as his original release. Spinki, a novice ninja, must pass a series of potentially deadly challenge in order to earn the title of a ninja master, and it’s our job to make sure he succeeds.
Nguyen’s latest title focuses on dexterity and fast reaction speed. Ninja Skinki Challenges is based on the same game mechanics as Flappy Bird – it starts slowly and smoothly, and then it gets trickier. However, there’s a major difference between Ninja Spinki Challenges and Flappy Bird.
The latter was a running-style game, which means that only the obstacles changed, the scenery remaining the same. On the other hand, Ninja Spinki Challenges has various levels, each with its own level of difficulty.
As for the challenges, Nguyen declared that they would vary, depending on the level. For instance, during some of the level, the 8-bit novice ninja will have to take down multiple enemies using his shuriken quickly. Other levels are more passive, meaning that there’s no one to fight, but you still have to avoid obstacles such as cannon balls, exploding kitten heads, rolling fruits, and land mines.
Although the game might seem user-friendly, out advice to you is to don’t get fooled. The first levels of the game are pretty easy to pass, while the others are nearly impossible to beat.
As for the game’s creator, it looks like Nguyen wants to play it safe this time. If you recall, shortly after Flappy Bird game was released Dong Nguyen was forced to prematurely retire the paid version of the game from Google Play and Apple’s iStore on the account that many players somehow managed to break their phones’ screens after playing too much Flappy Bird.
As a result, Ninja Spinki Challenges is free to download, but the bad news is that you will have to sit through 20-second promotional clips each time you pause the game. The game is compatible with both iOS and Android devices.
