Marriott hotels will give their clients the option to stream Netflix directly on their room TVs. The partnership between the hotel giant and Netflix was unveiled on Wednesday.
That means that hundreds of hotels all over the world will allow guests to sign into their Netflix accounts using apps installed in hotel room TVs.
Netflix is an online streaming media company. Founded in 1997 in Los Gatos California. it started offering subscription plans in 1999 and by 2013 had more than 29 million subscribers and 100.000 movie titles accessible to the customers.
Netflix is available in both Americas and Western Europe and as well in New Zealand and Australia.
Netflix’s U.S. Subscriber rate has dropped but it is eagerly developing in the rest of the world.
The partnership makes a lot of sense, due to the fact that video renting and TV programs have been in high demand , especially before the wide-spread of fast broadband connection.
Now instead of using a tiny laptop with an inadequate screen, you can check whatever shows and movies you like that Netflix has, from your bed using a remote.
The only problem is checking out of the Netflix app in order to safeguard your account and passwords. There is a need for a bit of coordination in order to link the app to the hotel mainframe .
This app should allow the customer to keep his Netflix account networked and in case they forget to log out the app should log them out as soon as they check out of the hotel. But this is expected to be solved soon.
Marriott would assure improved viewing pleasure through this partnership for their customers. Marriott staff officials reported that about as much as quarter of their guests use internet apps on their room TVs and most of them use Netflix to do so.
Netflix is standard available in six of Marriott Hotels already with a further six to come this summer. By the end of 2015 Marriott plans to have as many as 100 hotels equipped with the Netflix app as standard with their room TVs.
The app will also be available to non-members for a 30 day trial, which might increase Netflix popularity and profits with almost no investment cost.
