
Danville’s police department is currently investigation the case of the convenience store robbery.
On early Monday, the city of Danville was the scene of rather a peculiar incident. According to a police report, a convenience store located on South Main Street was robbed by an unknown assailant who threatened the clerk with a firearm.
The facts, in this case, are curious, to say the least. According to Danville PD’s reports, a clerk working at Fas Mart, a convenience store located on the South Main Street dialed 911. The clerk, whose identity was no revealed for safety reason declared that around 2:30 a.m, a man entered the store.
After reaching the counter, the man asked the clerk to empty the cash register inside a bag. In addition, the man threatened to shoot the clerk if he did not comply or if he attempted to contact the authorities.
Fearing for his life, the clerk working at Fas Mart gave the assailant all the money he demanded. The victim told the police officers that although the man said that he would shoot him if he did not empty the cash registers, he did not see any kind of weapon.
After taking the money from the clerk, the robber casually left the convenience store, entered his car, and fled the scene. According to the eye witness’s deposition, the man climbed inside a light-colored vehicle.
By the description provided by the victim, the investigators believe that the assailant might have used a Dodge Neon in order to stage his escape.
Fortunately, no one was injured during the robbery. However, the assailant got away with a large amount of cash. At the moment, the officers are trying to track down the car used in the convenience store robbery. No suspects have been arrested so far, and the officers are nowhere near to solving the case.
UPDATE – Danville’s police department just released the suspect’s description. According to this new document, the robber is a Caucasian male, with a height of 5-foot-8 and he has approximately 30 years.
In addition, the victim said that the suspect has brown hair and that, at the moment, of the robbery, he wore a Virginia Tech T-shirt.
