Flash memory producer SanDisk has just elevated the stakes in its market to a whole new level. The company announced the upcoming launch of an innovative product that will grant 400GB of free space to Android gadgets. This storage breakthrough will give a head start to other adjacent industries to speed up better formats for digital content. Therefore, the future microSDCX UHS-I card represents the highest capacity card in the world at this moment.
SanDisk’s Storage Breakthrough Will Enable Smartphones to Host 40 Hours of 1080 HD Video
Google understood the major problem almost all smartphone users have and did something about it. While these small gadgets are capable of impressive deeds, they are limited by their own internal memory. It is like a genius suffers from short term memory. The potential is there yet it cannot fit a narrow environment. Therefore, the latest versions of Android allow users to set external cards as their primary storage.
SanDisk has also innovated in this area. The company obtained the latest storage breakthrough by creating a microSD for Android smartphones with expansion slots with a capacity of 400GB. That’s more than double what high-end iPhones are offering to users as internal memory.
The capacity of this new powerful storage card can also be translated into 40 hours of 1080 HD video, Western Digital notes, and speed up data transfer to 100mb/s. The asset was also created to support the latest technology such as the A1 App Performance Class. This means that once it is set as internal storage, the card will run apps faster than ever before.
The Innovative MicroSD Card Will Launch Soon on the Market
Even though this product will bring a storage revolution, the price-value ratio seems satisfactory to customers. The price tag is set for $250 which is not at all far-fetched considering the novel capabilities it unlocks. The official launch date is not clear yet, but it should appear on the shelves soon.
Mind you, don’t be discouraged if your gadget specs indicate that they can support less than 400GB of external space. Manufacturers couldn’t test the true capacity of their phones since the 400GB version didn’t exist at the time. Therefore, further tests will be needed to attest compatibility.
