A woman from Florida was recently found guilty of killing a popular Atlanta drag queen and poisoning four other persons with silicone injections. According to the court documents, the 47-year-old woman, identified as Deanna Roberts, illegally acquired a huge amount of silicone and used it to perform plastic surgery procedures by posing as a medical practitioner.
A prosecutor from Florida has found 47-year-old Deanna Roberts guilty of killing Latesha Hall, a popular transgender entertainer from the city of Atlanta. The guilty party also confessed to acquiring large amounts of silicone by posing as a medical professional.
When asked about the substance, Deanna Roberts declare that she bought approximately 178 gallons between 2004 and 2015 from an Arizona provider with the intent to lubricate medical instruments. The woman might also be charged with false testimony, as she told the court that she never used the silicone solution on humans.
According to the woman’s court file, it appears that on many occasions, Roberts would tell her clients that she is a medical practitioner, certified by the board to perform plastic surgery procedures like silicone injections.
It remains unclear how Latesha Hall met Roberts, but it would appear that popular Atlanta drag queen was one of Roberts’ regulars. The woman declared before the court that Hall would come to her ‘clinic’ a couple of times a month for her buttocks silicone injection, a fact confirmed by the individual’s autopsy.
Furthermore, it would appear that during Hall’s last session, Roberts administered at least ten silicone injections. However, during the last shots, Roberts must have to miss the tissue and instead hit a major blood vessel which ruptured. Hall’s autopsy confirmed that this was the cause of death. Moreover, it would appear that due to Roberts’ flawed technique, the silicone solution ended up in Hall’s lungs, heart, brain, and stomach.
However, Latesha Hall was not the woman’s only victims.
According to the authorities, three other women have been admitted to the hospital, shortly after going to Roberts’ clinic for their silicone shots. Fortunately, the doctors were able to reverse the damage produced by Roberts’ procedures.
For her deeds, Deanna Roberts must answer before the courts for several charges including murder, transporting, acquiring, distributing, and using a controlled substance, and bearing false witness. The woman has been scheduled to appear before the court at the end of March. Health authorities declared that the women poisoned by Roberts have received a green bill of health and left the hospital.
