Cliff Bleszinski, Boss Key Productions’s CEO, said that Lawbreakers will no longer be Free-to-Play on Steam.
Unfortunately, according to Cliff Bleszinski, the founder of Boss Key Productions, Lawbreakers will no longer be available on Steam on a Free-to-play basis. The founder has recently decided to take down the free version of the game from Steam to replace it with a premium one.
During the GDC 2016, Cliff Bleszinski, the big man of Boss Key Production announced that Lawbreakers, a gaming concept that was introduced back in August 2015, can no longer be played for free on Steam.
Moreover, the founding father of Boss Key also added that although the game will no longer be free, the company is still thinking about giving Steam exclusive sale and distribution rights. Now, specs-wise, the company still kept a close lid, but the boss-man did say something about a price tag.
Bleszinski, during the same gaming conference, said that the game will not come along with a 60-dollar price tag, but the price is sure to reflect the game’s quality.
When asked about the reason behind Boss Key’s major move, Bleszinski responded that the company wants to even the playing field and to maintain a certain balance. Well, this can roughly be translated as: why should we let players play a great game for free when we could replace the free version would a premium version that comes along with a price tag?
Is it worth it? We believe so if we take into account the game’s achievement. Now, on to more pressing business.
What the heck is Lawbreakers?
Well, if we were to guess the genre of the game, we would say that it’s an FPS, multiplayer game. But that’s not enough. To tell the truth, the game kind of reminds us of Team Fortress 2 or Unreal Tournament 2007.
The story behind the game sounds good, even though the game is not centered on the plot. According to the presentation clip, the plot of the game provides the player with a glimpse of the future.
Sometime in the future, a cataclysmic event known as The Shattering transforms Earth into a dangerous wasteland. Only a few safe havens remain on Earth, and everybody is battling for them. As we would expect from the future, the character is armed with all kinds of super-duper high-tech weapons and mind-boggling super powers.
And there is even a Titan fighting alongside the humans called Cronos. All in all, the game looks good, and the action is fast-paced: sweet moves, smart gadgets and lots and lots of blood.
