Mt. Baldy Remains Closed

Apr 13, 2016 By Graziella Paone Leave a Comment

"Mount Baldy"

Mount Baldy is one of the most visited landmarks in Indiana.

Mt. Baldy remains closed until further evidence about the incident involving the six years old boy is unearthed. The authorities have noticed a severe drop in the number of tourists since the dune was deemed off limits for all visitors.

Three years ago, a family was visiting the 120 feet sand dune dubbed Mount Baldy. But their vacation was rapidly transformed into a nightmare when Nathan Woessner fell and was buried alive in the sand. The six years old boy was buried several feet in the sand, and the authorities spent a considerable amount of time getting him out.

Woessner was then transported to the nearest hospital where he received medical attention. Now the boy is out of danger, but Mt. Baldy remains closed until the officials manage to explain the exact cause if the incident.

Presently, a team from the Indiana Geological Survey is examining the site of the incident, trying to find a reasonable explanation why the little boy was trapped in the sand dune. And until they do, Mt. Baldy remains closed.

This is not the first study conducted in the area. Previous ones have all indicated that the main culprits are the trees. It seems that when trees start to rot in the soil that can be found around the dune, they leave a hole behind. These cavities were examined by researchers using ground-penetrating radars. They were searching for hollow structures and buried rotting trunks that could have caused the accident.

According to the theories emitted by the scientists, the little boy fell into one of these holes. But the researchers haven’t found anything in the area in which the incident took place, so the authorities have yet to formulate an official statement.

“Whatever we say will turn out to be accurate, or as accurate as science can tell us” commenter Bruce Rowe, the park’s spokesman.

Mount Baldy is located in Indiana. It’s basically a 120 feet dune that circulates Lake Michigan. The dune is one of the most visited landmarks in the state, drawing approximately 1.5 million tourists every year. In 2014, the location attracted the lowest number of visitors in a decade.

The most reasonable explanation for the drop in visitors is the fact that, for three years now, all tourists have been redirected from the area. Park representatives decided not to comment on the matter. Meanwhile, Mt. Baldy remains closed until further notice.

ATF’s Investigating Two Connected Bombing Cases

"ATF’s Investigating Two Connected Bombing Cases"

The Madison Police Department and the ATF are currently investigating two incidents involving pipe bombs.

The police department from Madison, Indiana and the ATF are currently investigating two seemingly related cases of terrorism, which occurred two weeks apart. Both the police and the ATF believe that the explosive devices, which targeted Madison’s Police Department and a judge’s house are connected and that the aggressor definitely has something against the justice system.

Madison’s police department is on the lookout for suspects in two cases of bombings which occurred two weeks apart. According to the police’s affidavits, the first incident took place two weeks ago, when an IED (improvised explosive device), also known as a pipe bomb, exploded across the police’s building.

Fortunately, no one was injured in the event, but the incident raised many questions about homeland security. Naturally, the police started to investigate this strange incident, but no suspects were apprehended.

After just two weeks, another incident occurred, only, this time, it was near a judge’s house. According to the police, sometime during the night, an incendiary device detonated on Wednesday in the driveway of a Judge’s house. They’ve also stated that the victim in question is a Jefferson County Judge and that his or hers house is located on Cherry Trace.

Due to the nature of this case, the police chose not to disclose the names of the victims or anything related to the incendiary devices used in the attacks.

As of now, Madison’s police department believe that the two incidents are related and that the perpetrator or perpetrators specifically targeted members of the justice system.

Dan Thurston, the chief of Madison’s police department offered a few comments. The police commissioner believes that the two incidents are intimately connected and that the assailant is trying to bring down the legal system by systematically targeting police buildings and judges.

Until now, no suspects were apprehended. In order to expedite the investigation, Madison’s police squad requested the help of the ATF. Both agencies have begun an extensive investigation in order to determine the reason behind the two acts of terrorism.

Furthermore, the same Dan Thurston recommended that those who are judges, district attorneys, police officers or are related to such people should be on the lookout for anything that looks remotely suspicious.

If by chance they catch of glimpse of something that is out of the ordinary, they should immediately notify either the Madison police department or the ATF.

In the meantime, the police and ATF are doing everything they can in order to avert another incident and to discover the reason behind the bombings.
