A teen from Jacksonville, Florida murdered his grandmother in cold blood.
A domestic argument ended in a tragic manner after a teen killed his grandma in cold blood. The crime was committed in Jacksonville, Florida, and the perpetrator is an 18-year-old name, Dylan Brougham.
According to Jacksonville’s chief of police, the reason behind Brougham’s deed is baffling, to say the least. The teen killed his Grandma after the 69-year-old woman took his beer and hid it. The same chief of police said that initially, the teen was charged only with aggravated battery for his deed, but a murder charge was later added, after Joyce Ann Courson, his grandmother, died at the hospital.
A witness was present at the time Brougham committed the deed. As he recalls, the whole incident transpired on the 10th of November. While Dylan went to the bathroom to take a shower, the woman took the teen’s beer from the kitchen counter and hid it.
The witness overheard the two screaming at each other after Dylan came out of the shower and observed that his beer was gone. In addition, after the heated argument, as the witness recalls, the senior woman went upstairs while the young man remained in the kitchen.
However, things did not end here. Infuriated by his grandmother’s gesture, the teen started to punch holes in the kitchen’s walls using his fist. When the senior woman heard the sound, she came back to see what’s happening.
After the senior woman had entered the kitchen, Brougham pushed the senior woman to the ground. While she was down, the adolescent began to hit her with his closed fists and to kick her repeatedly. After Brougham stopped kicking and punching his grandmother, he exited the house.
The witness heard only the two of them screaming at each other, but did not witness the actual deed. Upon entering the house and seeing the woman lie motionless on the floor, the witness immediately called an ambulance.
After being taken to the hospital, the 69-year senior woman told the investigators all the details mentioned above.
Brougham was apprehended when he was returning home and was charged with aggravated battery. Unfortunately, due to her severe injuries, the old woman could not be saved. She died on the 18th of October at Jacksonville’s hospital.
After performing the autopsy, the coroner declared that her the woman died as a result of her injuries. Dylan Brougham now faces charges of aggravated battery and homicide.
